Platforms dedicated to filmed, streamed theatre – particularly Broadway or West End-style large shows – exploded in popularity during the pandemic. Digital Theatre+, National Theatre Live (at Home), and League of Livestreaming experienced huge bumps in their subscriber bases. However, many of these streaming platforms existed for years as competition with movie and TV streaming services from YouTube to Netflix.
