360° Immersive Video

Wayfinding: Tools > Hardware > 360° Immersive Video

Andrew Hungerford discussed using 360 cameras to capture their site-specific shows rather than recreating a theatrical experience using VR animation or game engines. The Insta360 camera revolutionised the ability t°o make immersive films; there are several 360° cameras on the market now, so you may consider capturing an immersive video of a show, like a site-specific work, and offer that for VR users. The downside of this type of capture is that there will be less ability for the audience to interact, since the capture is effectively film and not a videogame; but, the audience can move the camera around, changing their subjective experience of the narrative.
